Student associations and events
The School's associations
Association life in Oxford means putting your knowledge into practise, developing your soft skills and creating some new ones, meeting people on and off the campus.
The pure English tradition dictates that student groups are called clubs or societies. We are getting used to using this terminology on campus. The clubs that students create and manage throughout the year form a vital part at EM Normandie Oxford and is our pride and joy!
We would like to develop even more partnerships with local stakeholders such as Oxford City Council, John Lewis, Oxford University, Oxford Brookes University, … So, if you want to be part of this project, we are waiting for you!
Be ready for the next academic year : the more events the better, always in line with the association goal. Never hesitate to ask the Student Life Officer, and always seek having fun and enjoying the experience!

Find the right Association for you
Here are some examples of clubs we have here in Oxford:
Dynast'EM
Take part in the next 25/26 student council to be in charge of organising major student events, fostering integration and school spirit, and representing students to the administration. Dynast'EM will also coordinate other students' associations and manages a significant budget for activities.
Gladiat'EM
The sports Council of Oxford Campus: promote physical activity and team spirit by organising sports events, managing school teams, and encouraging student participation in competitions. It also supports sports clubs and ensures access to facilities and equipment.
International Council Oxford
The main role of the ICO is to welcome international students and guide them throughout the year by providing them with fun and cultural activities.
Includ’EM
Includ’EM is our charity association, whose members are always keen to help others. Special events are organised to raise founds for charity.
Media'EM
Media'EM is our media association, which captured all the highlights of the year to create the campus’s very first Yearbook.
Live your student life to the full
Being part of an association means attending meetings with other members and investing yourself fully in your missions.
In my first year, I joined the student federation as part of the events team, a job I liked straight away. I quickly realised that I wanted to become Head of Campus (HoC) in my second year.

Squid'EM, a tough challenge to connect the UK with France
They did it! Three students from EM Normandie, members of the Squid'EM association, successfully crossed the English Channel in a relay swim on Wednesday 18 June. Setting off from Dover at 2.15 am UK time, they reached the French coast at Wissant after a 16-hour effort in 13°C seas, covering a total of around 80 kilometres.

"We're very pleased with this performance, which is the outcome of several months of physical and logistical preparation. We've pushed ourselves to the limit and we're happy and proud to have risen to this sporting challenge together. On several occasions, we were told that it would be better to give up, that the currents were too strong. But we held on. We kept believing, believing in ourselves, and we supported each other right to the end. It wasn't easy, but we gave it our all. It's an experience that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. It was a bit of a crazy project, but we did it," says Pierre Rolland, chairman of the Squid'EM association.

Get ready for the student association elections

How could you be more integrated than by joining student offices at EM Normandie?
They organise a great variety of events with the aim of strengthening cohesion among the EM Normandie community and breathing life into the School in many different ways. Students are organised in societies for students (Bureau des Elèves), culture (Bureau des Arts et de la Culture), sports (Bureau des Sports), solidarity (Bureau des Initiatives).
Each year in March on the Caen and Paris campuses and in November on the Le Havre campus, elections are organised to choose the new society leaders. Several lists of students stand for election during a fierce electoral campaign, which culminates in an all-day event on the campuses. The campuses are decorated around a theme that reflects the lists, with the aim of convincing you to elect the leaders who will take on responsibilities throughout the year.
